Display unit

CONSTITUTION: In case of an electronic wristwatch, the unit composed of liquid- crystal or electrochromic display element 1, driver circuit for the element, control part 4 for a counter, decoder, etc., and power supply 5 is equipped with temperature detection circuit 3, and circuit 2 is supplied with power via circuit 3. When the temperature of the element rises above a fixed one, the electronic switch device of circuit turns OFF with a signal from the temperature detector to stop supplying power to circuit 2 and when it returns to an ambient temperature, the ambient- temperature return signal of the temperature detector allows the electronic switch to turn ON to restart supplying the power to circuit. During those operations, control part 4 carries on clocking, so that the time display will not be delayed.
