CONSTITUTION: The objective dope for forming can be obtained by incorporating (A) such a dope virtually free from chemically cyclizing agent that polyamic acid is dissolved in an aprotic organic polar solvent with (B) 0.1-4 (pref. 0.2-1) equivalent, based on the COOH in the polyamic acid, of an amine (pref. tertiary amine) and/or metal salt of an acid ≥4.3 in PKa value (at 15°C in water) (pref. alkali metal salt of lower aliphatic carboxylic acid). This dope is delivered through a spinneret and passed through an inert atmosphere followed by solidification and drawing, and the resultant drawn yarn is wound in a chemically cyclizing agent (pref. a combination of acetic anhydride with pyridine), thus obtaining the other objective polyimide precursor fiber.
